Back to School Helpers: Grab-and-Go Morning Lists and Notes to Go

With school getting ready to start up again, mornings will be a busy time with your children getting ready for school. I've run across two neat tools (The Fuel for School Grab-and-Go Morning Lists and Notes To Go) over at the Kellogg's website to make mornings a little easier, as well as a fun way to send reminders to your kiddies.

The Fuel for School Grab-and-Go Morning Lists help make your mornings easier and ensure your kids have everything they need before they go to school. They have two list, one for children in day care through grade 2 and another for those in grades 3 through 6.

You can download and print out these lists, which act as checklists to make sure your children have everything they need for that day at school. Anything not on the list can be written in on the bottom and there is also a picture on the lists that your children can color. Working together with your children, you can check off the items as they are completed.

Notes to Go is a fun way to send friendly reminder notes with your children before they head out for school. Choose a Kellogg's character, type your notes, print it and then place them in your child's backpack, lunch box or school folder.

Free Kitchen Kids Cookbook

Cooking is a terrific way to express your creativity. I came across this offer for a free Kitchen Kids Cookbook that I thought might be helpful in teaching your children about cooking to express their creativity.

My daughter enjoys helping me cook and is proud when the family enjoys whatever she prepares.

Wizard of Oz Coloring Pages

Being that the The Wizard of Oz premiered in August 1939 we thought we would publish a nice list of coloring pages based on the American musical-fantasy film.

The story: Orphan Dorothy Gale lives a simple life in Kansas with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry and three colorful farm hands, Hunk, Zeke and Hickory. One day the stern neighbor Miss Gulch is bitten by Dorothy's dog, Toto. Miss Gulch takes Toto away, by order of the sheriff, over the impassioned protests of Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. Toto escapes and returns to Dorothy who is momentarily elated but soon realizes Miss Gulch will return. Play Clay

I found this neat booklet that shows you how to make Play Clay as well as crafts made by your children using the Play Clay.

Play Clay is homemade modeling clay that becomes permanent after it drys. It is made bu using a few simple ingredients:

ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda
ARGO or KINGSFORD’S Corn Starch
Water

Play Clay is fun to use with kids of all ages, will help with those times of boredom and your kids will use their hands and their imagination to make nearly anything they wish.
