Moving Across the Country? 5 Hotspots Your Children Will Love

Picking up and moving your family across an entire country doesn’t have to be boring. The country is packed with fun spots all along the way that offer entertainment and education to children. If you are moving across the country, take the time for you and your family to stop by these five must see landmarks.

Yellowstone National Park

The Freedom Trail – Massachusetts

Taking the Freedom Trail in Boston, Massachusetts is an absolute must for making the early history of The United States come alive. This red brick pathway winds through the city of Boston passing 16 historical sites that played a significant role in the formation of the country. The trail passes such monumental locations as the Old North Church, the site of the Boston Massacre, the Boston Latin School and the Massachusetts State House.

Ellis Island - New York

Ellis Island in New York is an essential part of the country’s history. The ancestry of millions of Americans is tied to this tiny island, which was essentially the gateway to America for 60 years. The island is now a national monument and home to a museum that tells heartbreaking and joyful stories of newly arrived immigrants.

Independence Hall – Pennsylvania

Be sure to stop by Philadelphia to see another slice of classic American history. Philadelphia is another town that is rich with stories of the birth of the nation. Among the many historical sites, Independence Hall is one worth visiting. This was the primary meeting place of the Second Continental Congress. Here, they perfected and signed the Declaration of Independence and the constitution. This was also the original location of the Liberty Bell. Today, the liberty bell can still be seen in a museum across the street from Independence Hall.

Yellowstone National Park - Wyoming, Montana, Idaho

Any drive across the United States should include one of the country’s most beautiful natural preserves. Yellowstone National Park is over two million acres of untouched land. The park contains one of the most spectacular geological spectacles. Old Faithful, a geyser that shoots water straight up into the air every 91 minutes, is located in the Wyoming portion of Yellowstone.

San Diego Zoo – California

Every child should visit San Diego Zoo at least once. This zoo is 100 acres of over 600 species of animals. This is one of the few places in the world where giant pandas can be seen outside their natural habitat.
