Mother's Day Craft: Fun Flower Craft

Here's a wonderful gift the kids can work on for Mother's Day. We will need dads, grandparents (not grandma if this is for her), older siblings or other loved ones to help the younger children create their special Fun Flower Craft for mom.

Materials need to create Fun Flower Craft:

Crayola Color Explosion White Paper and Markers
Crayola scissors
Crayola glue
Recycled container
Cardboard tube
Rubber bands

Now I'm sure you can get by making the project without the Crayola name products. I listed them because they created this video and craft, not to mention, they have great products.



Be creative and add you own style and decoration to this craft. One possible idea is to add small photos of your you child or children to each flower petal. If anyone has any ideas to add to this craft, please share with us. Have fun!

Help your Toddler Learn the Days of the Week

Need some help getting your toddler to learn the days of the week? If so, this video from ModernMom, Nancy Stone, might be your answer.



A few fun, simple and easy tips:

Rhyme things with the days of the week.

Make a large calendar and let your children get involved by getting them to write or trace out letters of each day and decorate.

Use association by telling them things such as:

"It's Saturday and we don't have to go to school on Saturday" or

"It's Sunday and we go to church."

The more times you can remind your child not just what day it is today, but what day it's going to be tomorrow, the more times your child will start to get the association.

Underwear or socks with days of the week on them are another great way for them to learn!

Free Police Coloring Book

Here's a fun Police coloring book that your kids can color online and print out OR just print out and use their own crayons and markers to decorate.

The Free Police Coloring Book, which is provide by the city of Davis (CA) is fifteen pages long including the cover and you can print out the whole coloring book or just individual pages. You also have the option of coloring five pages from the book online (those pages are already selected for you) and then printing them out on your computer.

If you children want to change the colors of their pictures before printing, a reset button is provided to start over.
