You're trying to find gifts for everyone on your list, getting everyone together for that perfect photo card, shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking, cleaning and everything around your work and school schedules. The holidays can be especially stressful if you are on a tight budget due to the rough economy, going to graduate school, or have been recently laid off of work. As tough as it is right now, a lack of funds can be a holiday blessing, as it offers a great chance to get even more creative and spend more time with your family.
Try not to forget this is a magic time for your little ones and it won't last long. There are many fun activities you can do together that will help you enjoy the season.

Garden Toy Ideas for the Winter
Summer is almost over, and it's now time to bring in the paddling pool, cover over the sand pit, and put away the slides. However, that doesn't mean that the garden should become a boring and uninviting place for kids. There are plenty of garden toys for children that can be used during the winter.
Most of the winter fun comes when it snows. Traditional favourites such as snowball fights, and even making snowmen, are things that anyone can enjoy - even if they have only a small yard or garden. You don't need any special equipment to play outside in the snow - although a good pair of gloves and a shovel will make building a snowman a slightly easier experience.

Children's Activities and Games With Balloons
Kids love balloons. There are a lot of games, crafts and even some science that can be done with balloons. Here are a few simple examples to try.
Hot Potato - This simple game begins with one round balloon and all of the participants sitting in a circle. You can sit around a table or on the floor. Set a timer for three minutes and bat the balloon to each other, not letting it touch the ground until the timer goes off. Now add another balloon and reset the timer. Keep adding a balloon until there is at least one balloon for each player and try to keep them all off the floor until time is up. This is a fun indoor game for any age group.
