Tux Paint - Free Drawing Program for Kids

One thing my children really love to do is draw and color, they can't get enough. So, I was really excited when Fun 4 The Children reader, Nicole sent me an e-mail to let me know about a program called Tux Paint.

Tux Paint is a terrific, free, computer art software for children ages 3 to 12. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface, with great sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who helps guide your children as they use the program.

Tux Paint has a wide array of typical paint application tools, as well as "magic tools" that will allow your children to paint with toothpaste, kaleidoscope, and many other unique things. There are also many sets of different stamps that allow your child the option of stamping objects such as animals, sports, symbols and more into their pictures. Make sure you download the different stamp packs to increase the amount of different stamps available.

Saving of work done can be done in one click, without dealing with folders or file names and opening of files is accomplished with ease, as children can choose from small previews of their saved drawings.

Tux Paint is compatible with Windows, Max OS X, Linux and other operating systems and works in over 80 languages.

A very useful program for kids as well as some of us parents, as I've had some great fun fooling around with this program!
