How to Make a St Patrick's Day Leprechaun Wall Hanging Craft

Here's a cute leprechaun for your children to create. When finished they can hang them on the front door to greet visitors or hang them in the windows as decorations.

Materials needed to crate the Leprechaun Wall Hanging Craft:

Small paper plate and regular size paper plate
Paint - Green and skin colored (tan or peach)
Various colored construction paper
Black magic marker
Craft glue
Scissors (safety scissors for smaller kids)
Pattern 1
Pattern 1



Tips and/or ideas:

Create a large rainbow and paste back of the leprechaun on top of the rainbow.

Create larger and smaller size leprechauns. You can shrink the patterns down with image editing software or your computer printer if yours has that option. You can always draw them freehand also.

Be creative and have fun!

Wee Leprechaun Craft - St. Patrick's Day Craft

Catch yourself a Leprechaun with this fun Wee Leprechaun craft from Disney FamilyFun.

This Wee Leprechaun craft is fairly easy to create and sure to bring a smile to your children's face when finished.

Materials needed to create the Wee Leprechaun Craft:

Toilet paper tube
Black permanent marker
Drawing Compass (optional)
Green craft foam
Scissors (safety scissors for smaller children)
Small paint brush
Acrylic paints: green, pink, skin-tone and brown
Tacky glue
Four brown pipe cleaners
Decorative button (St. Patrick's Day themed)



Project Instructions for Wee Leprechaun

Harriet Tubman Coloring Pages

February is "Black History Month," a month where our country sets aside time to honor African Americans who have changed the world.

"Harriet Tubman was an African-American abolitionist, humanitarian, and Union spy during the American Civil War. After escaping from slavery, into which she was born, she made thirteen missions to rescue over seventy slaves[1] using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.

In 1849, Tubman escaped to Philadelphia, then immediately returned to Maryland to rescue her family. Slowly, one group at a time, she brought relatives with her out of the state, and eventually guided dozens of other slaves to freedom."

Happy Birthday Elmo Event at Borders

Borders is celebrating Elmo’s Birthday with a Happy Birthday Elmo Event on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11AM.



There are going to have storytime, games and more. Events and details will vary by store.

The strange part about this event is that Elmo is not going to be there but I've been to many Borders children's events and the kids always had a great time.

Just make sure to call your local Borders to see if they are participating in the Happy Birthday Elmo Event at Borders.

"Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an African American civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress later called the Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement.

On December 1, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama, Parks, age 42, refused to obey bus driver James Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger. Parks' act of defiance became an important symbol of the modern Civil Rights Movement and Parks became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation."

How to Make a Valentine's Day Heart Person for Kids

Next up, you are going to learn how to make a heart person. The heart person craft is one of our favorites. My kids made whole families of heart people, different sizes, different facial expressions and named each one.

We also made a heart family mobile by connecting each heart person to a red plastic coat hanger.

My daughter used materials from the How to Make a Heart Suncatcher Valentine for Kids craft to make a heart person suncatcher!

Materials needed for the Valentine's Day Heart Person:

Construction paper
Pencil
Scissors (safety scissors for small children)
Wiggly eyes
Pom-poms
Magic marker
Hole punch (or something you can use to make a hole)
Yarn

Make a Valentine's Day Card with Clifford

Anyone with children who are fans of Clifford the Big Red Dog? It seems as though Clifford has been around forever (guess that means I've been around forever also).



We were searching for Valentine's Day card ideas and came across this cute Clifford online Valentine's Day card creator at the Scholastic website.

You get to create your own Clifford Valentine's Day card online and then print it out on your computer printer.

You'll start by selecting a colored card or plain card for your children to color after it has been printed. The you will select your choice of the cover of your card. Next, you get a choice of what you want the inside of your card to look like.

After selecting the inside of the card , you will get to type in your own personalized Valentine's Day message.

When finished, you can hit the print button to send the card to your computer printer. There are also directions listed for folding your card after it is printed.

We preferred the non colored card as we got to decorate the card to our liking with crayons, markers and stickers.

How to Make a Valentine's Day Bookmark for Kids

In this eighth craft video of the Valentine's Day Crafts with Kids series, you will learn how to make a fun and easy Valentine's Day Bookmark for Kids. The bookmark is made out of foam so that it'll last longer.

Materials needed for the Kids Valentine's Day Bookmark:

Craft foam
Scissors (safety scissors for small children)
Hole punch (or something you can use to make a hole)
Valentine's stickers
Yarn



Some further idea for decorating your Valentine's Day Bookmark:

Add a picture of child or children or a copied from your computer printer. Trim the photo and glue to the bookmarks.

Postage stamps make wonderful decorations. Visit the post office or take from mail you received. Look for stamps with hearts, doves or the word love.

Cute out small hearts from Lace doilies.
