Free Children's Dish Set - Sprout Smart

From Sprout Smart and Mott's For Tots comes a free children's dish set for filling out a very simple survey. The survey consist of a few questions about Mott's For Tots juices and is only a few questions long.

The dish set includes: bowl & lid, juice cup, and fork and spoon.

Sesame Street Fire Safety Station Color and Learn Booklet

A helpful way to help teach your children about fire safety is with the Sesame Street Fire Safety coloring book. By helping your child with the coloring book you reinforce the importance of fire safety in your home.

See All You Can See/Wild About Healthy Vision Activity Books

Here's two activity books that can help your children learn about healthy vision.



See All You Can See - contains word puzzles, games and mazes that will teach your children about eye safety, first aid for eye injuries, and eye disease. This twelve page activity book is for children between the ages of 6 to 8 years of age.

There is a really neat section in this activity book called" Up, Down, Blink, Stretch... Eye Gymnastics (page 5 and 6). Parents, make sure you also give this a try.



Wild About Healthy Vision - contains vision journal, puzzles, games, family survey, projects and experiments, that will teach your children about eye safety, first aid for eye injuries, and eye disease. This sixteen page activity book is for children between the ages of 9 to 12 years of age.



You can order one or both of these free activity books from the National Eye Institute. If you don't wait for the activity books to come, you can also download both of them to your computer and print them out on your printer.

TeensEyes

I had previously posted a link for an online survey panel geared toward children ages 6-12 called KidzEyes.

For those of you with teenagers in your home, they also have an online survey panel called TeensEyes.

Based on the same concept as KidEyes, TeensEyes.com is an online survey panel of teens between 13 and 18. TeensEyes surveys reward teens for telling the companies that make products and services for them how they look through teens' eyes.

From the TeensEyes website: "After you've registered, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to activate your membership. Once you activate your membership, you'll receive 300 points for joining, and we will start e-mailing you invitations to take surveys.

When you register, we'll also send a letter to your parent or guardian notifying them of your registration, and asking them to fill in a separate survey for parents or guardians. When they fill out this survey, they will earn 200 points for you. From time to time we may invite parents or guardians of members to participate in surveys so we can learn what parents and teens see eye-to-eye on, and what they see differently.

Once you take your first survey, you'll start to collect points in your account. Some surveys are short and take just a few minutes, and others are long. Every time you complete one, you'll earn points in your account. You can earn anywhere between a few hundred to a few thousand points (between $2-$20) each time you complete a survey."

Your not going to get hundreds of surveys sent, as they try to send at least one a month, sometimes two. The surveys don't take long and you don't have to worry about your teenager receiving any inappropriate items from the company. Surveys consist of such items as movies, music, TV shows, video games and sports.

Children's Dental Health Month

February is Children's Dental Health month at national dental health insurer, United Concordia's website. I came across the article today while searching for information on teeth for a project my daughter is doing for school.

On the United Concordia website they have some different dental puzzles, word searches, games and color pages that you can print out on your home computer printer, and let the kids have some fun while learning about good dental health.



I'm not sure if they are going to add more stuff to the page as the month goes on. Visit the United Concordia website to get your dental health puzzles and games (click "members tab" at top of the United Concordia webpage and then the "February is children's dental health month box in the bottom left corner of page).

You can also click Dental Health Month as this is a direct link to the dental health puzzles and games (I try to always provide a link to the homepage and a direct link, for websites are always changing).

Create A Valentine's Puzzle

This is really cute for your children and to send to your loved ones for Valentine's Day.

To create your Valentine's puzzle, all you have to do is upload a Jpeg image, drag your image to the desired position and click the "Generate Puzzle" button.

The Valentine's puzzle creator will divide your photo up into puzzle pieces, which you can then scramble ("Shuffle Puzzle" button appears when you place your cursor over the puzzle).

My son and daughter both got a great laugh out of seeing their face scrambled and then putting it back together again.

You can also send the puzzle to other family members and friends (my children's grandparents will be delighted) as a Valentine's Day e-card, as you get to select an audio track to go along with the puzzle.

Milk Matters Coloring Book

"This 14-page coloring book is part of the NICHD Milk Matters campaign, designed to teach parents, children, and health care providers about the importance of calcium for children and teens.

The booklet, for children ages four to eight, follows Buddy Brush as he explains why calcium is critical not only to good health, but also to healthy teeth, and outlines how to take good care of teeth."



These free coloring books are available through the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development - NICHD website.

You can download and print these comic books out on your computer printer or you can order hard copies to be sent to your home.
