Kelly Ripa / Electrolux Ultimate Banana Split Campaign

Did You Know?

"Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among U.S. women.

As of this post, here are the estimated new cases and deaths from ovarian cancer in the United States in 2010 ( from the National Cancer Institute):

New cases: 21,880
Deaths: 13,850"

About the “Splits For a Cause” Campaign

Kelly Ripa and Electrolux are joining forces once again to celebrate the launch of Electrolux Appliance's new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer - that's right, the familiar duo has split up. And to sweeten the celebration, they're bringing in the "Emperor of Ice Cream" Stephen Bruce, owner and founder of Serendipity 3, the landmark New York City restaurant and dessert spot, into the mix.

Kelly and Bruce teamed up earlier today to make banana splits for a cause. And now we want you to dig in, with your virtual spoon! Starting today, at www.Kelly-Confidential.com, you can build your ultimate banana split using virtual ingredients from classic whipped cream to caramel sauce to rainbow sprinkles. For each "split", Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund as part of its $750,000 commitment to help fight ovarian cancer.

As usual, Electrolux and Kelly find new and fun ways to say thank you to those who support this great cause. Everyone who logs on to Kelly-Confidential.com and builds a split will be automatically entered for a chance to win the daily prize - $50 towards sweet summer treats - and the grand prize: the new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer from Electrolux.

Kung Zhu Pets Review and Giveaway

Zhu Zhu Pets have added a new line of products called Kung Zhu Pets, and thanks to a group called Mom Select, which I am happy to be part of, I received a chance to try a box-full of Kung Zhu pets and accessories.

Kung Zhu Pets

The Kung Zhu Pets are very similar to regular Zhu Zhu pets, but they have an edgier appearance from the previous cutesy Zhu Zhu Pets. These stealthy, ninja hamsters are outfitted with guns and swords and they are divided into 2 different versions, the Special Forces and the Ninja Warriors and are ready to do battle against each other.

The playsets come in a wide variety of themes and designs, with available accessories that include items like armor, warrior bases, tanks, training centers, battle arenas and more. The great part about the playsets is that you can mix and match adjoining pieces within sets to give your children tons of different options!

The Battle Arena is the focal point of our play area, the main stage for our Kung Zhu Pets battles. With the Battle Arena, you can attach it to other pieces using connectors that are included to make one of the biggest, baddest Kung Zhu Worlds around.

Kung Zhu Battle Arena

Overall, my family has enjoyed playing with the Kung Zhu Pets and accessories and would recommend them to all. To their cute little warrior noises, tricks such as wheelies and spin moves or battles in the arena, the Kung Zhu Pets are super fun and sure to be a hit with your children!

Now for the Giveaway:

Being that we had a little mix up when we were sent the Kung Zhu Pets to review, I don't have any Kung Zhu Pets to send you. I am going to give one (1) winner a $15 Visa Gift Card (out of my pocket) to start their own Kung Zhu Pet collection.

MAIN ENTRY:

Leave a comment telling me your favorite Kung Zhu Pet or accessory. This is your first and main entry, it's a must in order to include any other bonus entries! You can head on over to the Toys "R" Us website to see the collection of Kung Zhu Pets (just type Kung Zhu Pets into the "Search" box at the top of the Toys "R" Us website).

Tux Paint - Free Drawing Program for Kids

One thing my children really love to do is draw and color, they can't get enough. So, I was really excited when Fun 4 The Children reader, Nicole sent me an e-mail to let me know about a program called Tux Paint.

Tux Paint is a terrific, free, computer art software for children ages 3 to 12. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface, with great sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who helps guide your children as they use the program.

Tux Paint has a wide array of typical paint application tools, as well as "magic tools" that will allow your children to paint with toothpaste, kaleidoscope, and many other unique things. There are also many sets of different stamps that allow your child the option of stamping objects such as animals, sports, symbols and more into their pictures. Make sure you download the different stamp packs to increase the amount of different stamps available.

Saving of work done can be done in one click, without dealing with folders or file names and opening of files is accomplished with ease, as children can choose from small previews of their saved drawings.

Tux Paint is compatible with Windows, Max OS X, Linux and other operating systems and works in over 80 languages.

A very useful program for kids as well as some of us parents, as I've had some great fun fooling around with this program!
